while we were in canada, my brother and his girlfriend dropped on us that they were getting married the week after we got home. they had been planning it for six months, but kept a secret from everyone bar the best man, maid of honour and celebrant until three weeks before the big day. my first reaction to the news was: “where the hell am i going to find a baby tuxedo in three weeks?” i promptly called in the big guns and asked my aunty who lives in las vegas to pop down and pick one up (only in vegas can you pop down to the store and buy a baby tuxedo). after that there was nothing left to do – b & a had done it all. accomodation? done. hair appointment? done. somewhere to leave the dog? done – except show up.
the wedding was simply spectacular and they achieved their vintage inspired feeling just perfectly. there was only 18 of us there – immediate family only – and it was held on a’s family farm in denmark, wa. they could not have asked for a more picturesque location or more sensational weather; it was the middle of winter, but that didn’t stop the sun from shining. a gorgeous wedding for a gorgeous couple.
