merry christmas 2013

t is generally not one for a sleep in, choosing instead to wake up at about 5.15am every morning; however, this morning, the rest of the house was well and truly up before him and i am so glad we were because we got to see the joy and wonder on his face as he toodled out of his bedroom and was greated by the gifts santa had left him the night before. i will never forget the ‘ooooooh’ he made when he first came around the corner and saw his water play table and wooden train set.

i’m not really sure who enjoyed the whole christmas present thing more though – thatcher or all of his aunties and uncles… after santa dropped his presents off on christmas eve, six full grown adults couldn’t wait to get into them and set them up for him – i am embarassed to say that the water table did indeed require six adults (and the instruction book) to set up. i think santa needs to choose his presents more wisely nest year – or at least deliver them preassembled!

^^^one of the best things about being down at my mum and dad’s on christmas morning is the yearly visit from santa who hands out lollies from the back of a ute. it was something i remember doing as a child and i’m so glad that t gets to experience it too^^

in preparation for the inevitably stinking hot christmas before us, we decided to spend christmas eve eve down at the hyde park splash pad. luckily for uncle k and the godfather they had nothing better to do with their day and were able to meet us down there for a picnic lunch (thank you nandos)…

it was a stunning day and the splash pad was a much bigger success today than last time we ventured down there. you can see the photos here. the mini cricket set t got from the godfather will take a little more getting used to though – he still hasn’t worked out it isn’t a hockey stick.

enjoy your christmas everyone. xx
